No Dan. AMD never offered an SMP version of Pentium because they never had a license to Intel's APIC, needed for SMP.

Yes it was. The Pentium was just a Pentium and commanded Pentium prices. The PPro came in different versions with varying L2 sizes which commanded very high premiums, hence the term lucrative. For someone who claimed to have been there from the early times, you sure don't remember much. Perhaps this 4th explanation will sink in.
