It is that very fear that caused the founding fathers to give us the Electoral College...they wanted smart folks in charge in case the populace did something silly and voted for Pee Wee Herman or something, for god's sake.

You are like so many of us, a harsh judge of your fellow men. Yet, the value added from giving freedom to all, wipes out all the stupidity you can imagine. Hey, on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, the audience of commoners is usually right.

We've gotta trust, as you find difficult, if we are to grant ourselves freedom.

I just hate knowing that people are highly susceptible to greed, and yet we choose to give much of the power each of works to attain, away to a few, in taxes. Now, if people are greedy and stupid, letting a few who claim to have our wellbeing in mind have our money "so as to help us all" is REALLY off.
