I think we are close to the end. Bush now has a "huge" lead of over 900 votes. This total will sit in the public's mind for 48 more hours, or so. I don't think Gore and the team will be able to squeeze out enough from the hand count to get there, despite the possibility evidenced from some of the ratios mentioned.

The Florida Supreme Court, whether democratic or republican, will recognize its unique role in bringing some order to this squalid mess. We will see.

I don't remember whether he did or not. So many venues report so many fragments of "news" I can't keep up with who said what or when. Both of our aspiring leaders should take this stance.
