Lets say you won by one vote. Then someone tells you that x votes need to be reviewed. Why you might ask, is the die not cast, did we not all have our votes counted twice in the manner required by law? Well you see my point. The Democrats want to keep counting. There are thousands and thousands of votes all across America that did not get included in the final tally, just like in Palm Beach, Dade, and Broward. The selective review of this is in fact a violation of the rights of the rest of the people who voted (for both Bush and Gore) and did not have the benefit of this hand review and intent judgement. You can honestly tell me that you support the hyperbole of someone like Daley? He says something different when he has to, which tells me core values are weak. Like Bennett was saying on Capital Gang this weekend. There is a higher standard, and the Republicans were not in a hurry to compromise it. If you are a thinking person, and an honest person, then you must judge these actions by the Democrats for what they really are...an attempt to win at all costs and with no respect for the law. It amazes me that so many other people can see it any other way. You can say with a straight face that the efforts of the Democrats to exclude those votes from overseas military personnel is an acceptable thing to do? A thing that represents the will of the people? If you can then there is something very wrong with you. Again, an example by Gore to pick and choose from the rules that benefit him most, and a clear display of a lack of principle or character in his core values and actions. Plain and simple and not a lot of grey...unless a Democrat is talking and has put in the spin. Why I am pretty sure that Daley could convince half the people that Hitler had some pretty good ideas. If Bush were to do what Gore is doing, I would end my support for him at once. I think this is a major difference in core value between Democrats and Republicans. Take Nixon for example. I have always like Nixon and respected many of the things that he did. Still I will always have a reservation about the "greatness" of Nixon because of what he did. It was wrong, and there is no grey area about it. The difference is that Nixon took his lumps like a man and paid the price. He even became a bit of an elder statesman in his final years and this was very nice to see. It changed nothing about what he did. To contrast, Clinton will walk away from perjury. Clinton lacked the character to pay. He will walk away from it all. In my view Nixon will always be a greater man than Clinton, because Nixon did what a man should do, and that is pay for his sin. Clinton just compounded his actions behind additional lies. Have a good one. TH
