My dad sent a similar application in. Since he sent certificates in, he sent it by certified mail return receipt requested. Took almost 2 weeks to get the receipt back. Then a few days later they emailed him they were returning it all apparently because he failed to put his SS# and DOB.

We are providing a return self-addressed DHL Overnight envelope to

required:

Date of Birth
Social Security Number

If you have any questions please send an email to support@datek.com or
call customer support at 1-800-U2-Datek 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."

I have been through many brokers and most all of them are rather inefficient in the account opening process and speed.

It would seem premature to want to stop payment already.

You can open a DATEK account without sending any money in. Just send it in or wire it once the account is already open.

I won't be embarassed. Sure it is nice to see that they responded more quickly.

I also waited about 2 weeks until I got back the papers when I opened my acct a long time ago. Funded the account later.

Maybe you can address your issue to Tim Richter or Datek.
