Another post I read somewhere: Hi! I have been studying the two main types of public exchanges - namely the ones who focus on the discovery phase of a transaction, and the other, who focus on transactivity fulfillment. Obviously, both these types of net markets have different revenue models and are both successful in varying degrees. I would like to invite a discussion from the forum on what type of a net-market will eventually succeed? My views are that although focusing on the discovery phase is a good way to begin customer acquisitions, ultimately, only genuine end-to-end transactivity will help realization of the benefits of the internet economy. The forces of dynamic pricing as well as enhanced discovery together, according to me, is the right recipe.
