You missed my point. Those safeguards are in place because people are untrustworthy. This validates my points. In this instance the machines have been certified as reliable. The machines have been certified as reliable. Hence, the sole reason for bringing an untrustworthy process into the picture--a process requiring eternal vigilance (your comments clearly confirm the process is one of self interest AND one of duplicity guarding duplicity)--is to substitute a game of cunning for the reliability of the certified machines.
