Well Oblomov, so you are a gloomy cynic too? If Wallace was alive today he would probably avoid politics altogether and stick to botany (or religious studies, his other main intrest). I really think that the largely economic issues that have defined the left and right ever since the accidental seating arrangements on that "tennis court" at Versailles some 211 years ago are becoming increasingly unimportant and much larger more serious issues related to our very survival here and arising. And just as the old structures were incapable of dealing the with new challanges so it may be again today. WSR
