These are not normal times. Normally Thanksgiving week is bullish, but my analysis shows an abnormal pattern for this time of the year. The market does not need gridlock in congress...the market needs earnings, sales, and an easy going FED. What we have are slowing earnings, slowing sales and a cautious FED. Prolonged election uncertainty takes the individual investor out of the market for now. The individual investor is responsible for holiday rallies. In other words, when the professional investors take off for holiday, it leaves only the unusually optimistic individual investors to move the market up. With the professional investors going on holiday and the individual investor turning cautious, all bets are off for the Thanksgiving rally.
