Good question.

The purpose of tomorrow's hearing is to hear oral arguments. But at this time, I believe each side has already filed their briefs with the Court, and one can be fairly sure the Court has been on top of as well as studying for sometime precedent to granting an appeal from the Gore campaign from J. Lewis's ruling.

Personally, I think the Court has already decided how they wish to rule on this issue, but insist upon hearing oral arguments just to be sure, and that's not to say after inquisitive questioning of the parties, apparently which this State Court is noted for, they couldn't reverse, revise, amend their preliminary position on this matter.

Obviously, the issue before them is of great national importance, but of also great importance is the need for finality. The Court has agreed to take this case on an expeditious procedural basis. As such, I believe they are likely to rule in within a time frame consistent with the manner in which they agree to hear the case.
