This will open up a privacy can of worms, but this is what
I think. And we do have the technology. Touch screens
with fingerprint verification.

The "system" has damn near everyones fingerprint anyway.
Link this to computer touch screens. Put down your finger,
get verified, screen with pictures of the presidential
candidates comes up. Touch one and new screen. Criminals
won't be voting. Honest, law abiding citizens shouldn't
care. If they care enough, they give up their vote.

Overseas is no problem. The verification units are portable.

The technology is too advanced to accept fake, or even dead
fingers.

IMHO it is only a matter of time.
