However, I doubt she would be the VP candidate in 2004, with one exception scenario. That is if Gov Bush wins the contest this time around but Sec Chenney decides to retire after the 1st term. Would the latter retire w/o appearing being dumped? That would be a $64,000 question! If this scenario doesn't materialize, her chance is slimmer. If GW loses, he may make another bid, but passionless candidates don't get too many chances [incidently, if VP Gore loses, he will likely be kicked upstair to become an elder *stateman*. Not an appealing prospect!] it is unlikely he will pick SoS Harris. Mind you, his picking of Sec Chenney is in part an attempt to bolster his global image as well as a repudiation of the familial burden when his father picked a junior senator from Indiana. This last argument alone might disqualify Harris for the VP candidacy even if Sec Chenney choice to retire in 2004, if GW won this time. If GOP has another standard bearer in 2004, say Sen McCain, the presidential candidate is unlikely to reward SoS Harris being a foot soldier for GW on that basis alone With regard to the Reform Party, I think one has to dig deeper into finding when these registration increases have occurred. Mind you, the unfolding [um, collapse] of the RP didn't come about well into the 8th inning. I mean, there was still a fight for for the status of standard bearer in summer. Did people registrate with them as a gesture of protest? Maybe. Would they go with Perot? Possibly. How about Ventura? Even more likely. But once Buchanan wrestled the title, could people *unregistrate* themselves? That is another $64,000 question. A doubling of RP registration since 1996 seems to be a playing of number like them mutual funds saying they have an annualized return of 30%. Unknownst to simpletons like myself is that they gained 180% in the 1st 3 months due to the internet bubble and most fund chasers [like myself] are all currently 50% under water <VBG>! One thing for sure, "Jew for Buchanan" is one heck of a suicidal cult! No matter how one plays the number game, one cannot dicount the common sense disbelief of the situation best, Bosco
