The main thing was to get enough of them out to make it clear that P4 was a loser. And that mission has been accomplished. It's kind of like when Intel shipped a handful of coppermines to take the wind out of the sails of AMD's Athlon launch. AMD learned its marketing lessons from Intel, and has proven to be an excellent student. :-) Dan PS - AMD will be shipping parts with 3 times the performance of the Athlon 1GHZ next year. Will P4 be at 4.5GHZ by then? Cause if it isn't....
