General Schwartzkopf (sp) was pretty upset over that one." Unfortunatly, that's the law. I agree they should be counted. I think those laws are national, I hope they are changed. "3. I hear stuff like Bush votes ending up in Gore piles, but I never hear the opposite." From what I've read that happened once, and was immediately corrected. "4. The whole chad thing is ridiculous. If how many corners are hanging, and whether they are pregnant or not, has to be subjected to a human's opinion, that screams for machine count. Machines can't be crooked." I don't think hand counts are unique to Florida. And I would guess the "chad" issues would have come up in any state that happened to end up the unenviable position of being the swing state in an almost deadlocked election. I don't buy into the idea that there are a bunch of crazed Democrats and Republicans desperatly trying to steal this election, working every chad to their benefit. I think 99% of the folks doing the recount are just regular citizens. The party operatives are getting out of hand, thats for sure. Pentium 4 Eve? Should there be a celebration? John
