To: Joe NYC who wrote (128864 ) 11/19/2000 9:40:03 PM From: tejek Respond to of 1570744 In fact it says quite the opposite; that the Democrats are desperately trying to meet all the demands of the Republicans How about letting an impartial panel decide on disputed ballots, instead of Democrats deciding all disputed ballots in favor of Gore? Joe, When you talk of the disputed ballots....do you mean the dimpled/undercounted ones? Please clarify. The reason I ask is because what you saying does not jive with what I am hearing. I just listened to the news. The major issue is whether the court will allow the dimpled/undercounted ballots to be counted. No one said that the Democrats would decide what that count would be but rather there would be parameters set up and if the ballot fell within those parameters, it would be counted.....meaning that if the dimple occurred on the slot for Bush, the vote would go to Bush and visa versa. In the meantime, they showed on tv the Republican and Democrat observers closely scrutinizing every move made by the counters. Once again, I believe that it would be very difficult for the counters to screw around........another clear example of my naivete. I can not believe you would have the cajones to make an analogy to Czechoslovakia and its fight for freedom. I was referring to your acceptance of liberal only media and exclusion of dissenting news sources. My other reference was to the election run by one party, as we had in Czechoslovakia. It seems that the only situation you consider fair is one that is 100% dominated by Democratic Party. Because I will not consider as a news source a newspaper run by Korean nationals that represent a religious organization whose American members have to be deprogrammed from time to time?!! Joe, get a grip. One last thing....if you intend on making inflammatory statements in your posts to me, I would appreciate you abiding by the rules of these threads; that is, to provide links that clearly back up those statements. TIA. ted
