Why hasn't the press kept up with all of Gore's stupid quotes...like asking who the busts of Washington, and Jefferson were?

Just to make sure we're clear on this, the site I posted was not a media site but published by someone who took the time to collect the quotes. And I've seen books of "stupid" quotes for both Democratic and Republican Presidents; Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon from immediately to mind. I'm confident there are more since any President [or Vice President] speaks frequently in public and is bound to make verbal blunders. It is my understanding that for Quayle it became a sort of a game for the press since he was one of the most prolific stupid quotes producers.

Perhaps my interpretation here is incorrect but I would assume that you don't personnally stalk Gore and the stupid quote that you allude to was relayed to you by some media, i.e., either broadcast or print. While I'm not familiar with that specific quote [and I wasn't familiar with most of the Quayle quotes either] I certainly have heard both candidates say stupid things. I don't believe either of us has the time or inclination to search out "all" of the stupid quotes that either candidate says, so I think the use of the word "all" is misplaced.

But perhaps a more interesting question to you [and similarly to Raymond] is: Why did you give attribution of the stupid quotes to Gore, when they should have been attributed to Quayle? A response would be appreciated.
