kranmantazzz - In my opinion - here's the problem: It's not that the cellular companies fear G* (at least not directly) It's that they have a sales staff that - every month - starts from -0- and is required to reach quota. Their quota consists of cellular. The sales staff gets paid so much for each cellular connection. Their jobs depend on their making quota.

G* has been thrown in as more or less a *SPIFF* - sales of G* don't figure or count towards their quota.

Their main focus is what makes them the most money - and what keeps their job (quota).

I had Global Phone when I was at GTE and I was the only person out of the entire sales staff in my location that EVER sold or really understood GlobalPhone and I thought it was the greatedst thing that GTE had to offer. Problem was - quota wasn't derived from it - $'s weren't made from it - so no one sold it.

It's purely economics....$50 per sale of a G* phone sucks...no two ways around it. Resellers pay more to their staff (of course) for G* sales - but I'm talking the SP's here. Sales people are not in sales for their health - *LOL* - every successful salesperson I know is monetarily focused...You're given a plan and you learn to work the plan.....unfortunately - right now - G* isn't part of the plan.
