What about the Democratic idea of limiting welfare to two years then they HAD to get a job?

Sorry, wrong again..that was a Republican idea.

Ellen, despite what Sanditoes says I believe it was an Administration idea to limit welfare to two years. Nothing she says is creditable.

Plenty of them - recognizing the good time and the good deeds, but attributing the successes to the legislative branch. To them the notion of executing is nothing. They will prove this attitude all over again if given a chance. Get ready for the ticking debt counter in a few years!

I don't know why I feel the need to chime in on this but WTW was a WI, and MI program that happened 2 years before the Federal program. My governor from WI Governor Thompson (Republican) had to fight with those fools in DC for almost a year to get them to let him try it. It worked and the Feds decided the program should go nation wide and then of course it become a Democrats program.

Look if you are interested but we have had the 2 year limit in Michigan and Wisconsin since 94. Great thing about Thompson, when the Dems adopted his baby and called it their own, was him saying "I don't care who takes credit, it is just something that needs to be done."
