Jane: I would buy Kevin the car in a different color, for Christmas. I think that he proved to you that he could give up the car that he wanted. At least that is what I think. He will be so surprised! :)Leigh

Jane,

That is really a touching story.

I go back and forth on the question of getting him the car. I think on the one hand it might send a bad message and create an expectation .... that giving is linked to receiving in an overt or direct way.

On the other hand, you want to reward the kid for being so good-hearted.

In the end, I would be inclined not to get him that car but to get him something else he really had his heart set on, but thought he would not get.

Jane,

FTR, my vote would be to get Kevin the car, in a different color.

I don't believe at his age there would be any psychological repercussions either way.

But, I am not a professional psychologist.

Have fun,
Phil

To the Punch Buggy voting public.....I just wrapped Kevin's yellow punch buggy. And it felt good, remembering him buying the other one to give away!!

The holidays are upon us, for those celebrating the first night of Chanukah tomorrow night, or those preparing to celebrate a Christian Christmas later in the weekend. Please remember to make it a joyous time of year and make some family memories that years from now the joy of the holidays will be revisited.

And please feel encouraged to share your holiday joys with all of us here!!

God Bless,
Jane
