Well, not much changed from last weekend when I posted some very old lines and proposed there would be hell to pay. We'll see. The SPX closed under the 1994 line and COMPX closed at/under the very old "top of channel" line. A number of NDX stocks are coiled, not so tightly though, with a series of tightening highs/lows. The bulls must hope these coils do not break downward. Biotech is right on the edge. The NASDAQ biotech index looks weak and gave up a long-term trendline last week (1998, weekly). A number of the BTK stocks broke down out of rising wedges or just plain uptrends. Continuing strength out there in insurance and healthcare. I said it last week and I'll say it again with increasing vigor. The bulls need a bounce here in the worst way to save the longish-term technical picture.

Every hour I watch CNBS I become more cynical. Today is a constant parade of ANALcysts making bottom calls and explaining why they are bullish for the next thousand years and why the S&P will double in 5 years and why the DOW will be at 10,000,000 in a few years and how the Naz is going to the moooooon and why you should be buying in SOIZE right now and on and on.... The bullshit these guys are spewing is downright criminal. As a cynic, I find it hard to believe that these criminals could be so out of touch with reality that they actually would believe their own bullshit they are trying to push on us. I think they know exactly what the f*ck they are doing. They are frantically pimping EVERYTHING so they can unload to the unknowing public while protecting their own vested interests. ehh, 'nuf ranting.....
