Everyone I knew in the military would attach themselves to FL when given the opportunity. FL didn't used to (don't know today) charge military income tax. I am a WI resident for instance and they excluded the first $2,000 but I was taxed on the rest. Remember one of my large re-enlistment bonus's the amount of state income tax I paid for the 3 days that I was in the state. Very irritating.
