limtex "after today we'll be lucky to see the nasdaq back over 3000 for the next ten years"

if you are a firm believer in your statement, then i assume you are out of any equity positions and full cash in money market.

closer to the bottom then the top....markets eventually turn, and with the liquidity it will not go sideways for a very long time....

re: NAZ back over 3,000 for the next ten years.

rediculous. State some facts instead of losing in front of us.

IMO, the Naz could hit 10,000 (and beyond) in well under ten years....We are just passing through a violent storm. Confidence will be re-built, inflation is under control, and the economy is still quite healthy. I feel that we will experience 'a soft landing'.

Look at how the demographic trends favor high levels of investment in stocks. Combine that with the fact that global Enterprise 2000 firms will need to continue to spend on new technology to enhance their efficiency and maintain their competitiveness. The strongest firms (eg. the BRCDs, the NTAPs, and the SEBLs) that are experiencing hypergrowth will be awarded premium valuations again. The Fund Managers have record amounts of cash and eventually they will put it to work. They are NOT paid to deliver the same returns that a money market account can deliver.

For the Long Term I am bullish but I expect to see A LOT of turbulence on the way to 10,000 and beyond. For the Naz its often 2 steps forward and 1 1/2 steps back <VBG>.

Regards,

Scott
