Mike welcome back always enjoy your post as well as most in this forum. Quite a change to read technology issues instead of hipe.

Something you stated was the time it took for you to get online was 30 seconds. Also not having to pay the $7.00 access fee.

This raises a red flag for me. If there is loss of revenues for the telecoms by allowing you to email home. Where is the money being made? This is de-inflation. Been suffering this in the financial world for 14-15 years and this year is probably the first year price increases will be able to be past on to the consumers.

Don't blast me for my comment. I don't care if we(the end user pays less), but then the investors will pay the price. Where does the backbone upgrade money come from if there is a temporary setback in fee's?

It's going to take at least five, more like eight to ten, years for 3G to rollout in Europe wouldn't you say?

MobilCom (http://www.mobilcom.de) is planning the start of its German UMTS network for summer 2002. Their equipment supplier is Ericsson.
