VIX is now above 30...any break of 2800-2850, and likely afast-track drop of 50/100 pts in the moments thereafter, would likely lead to a nice spike on the VIX..up near 34/35...

I would think we would see a hard, short-term rally out of that (regardless of the longer-term)...with so much cash on the sidelines, and the reliability of the "VIX over 30, spike, and rally"....of course, the real buyers wouldn't come in until the spike turns..

It looks like, over the last 12-13 years, whenever the VIX gone above 30, and then subsequently spiked (showing fear), it has almost always lead to a decent rally, and some powerful ones...
