If we followed the constitution
If you look at the great issues of the day, the democrat position is generally It is an individual choice and the Republican view is Lets put control in an entity we can control, and make everyone conform. I know that is an oversimplification. I chose the democratic view because it encompases both, a person can always choose to conform.
