blisenko: I would say that too except why the huge stock reaction. The fear is that this guy knows something that we don't the hope is that he sees a better opportunity at Veritas. JFD

This departure is way overblown.

Still, I believe Oracle's CEO, Larry Ellison, needs a team to run the company successfully. I hope shareholders will nudge him gently in that direction.

Although Larry runs Oracle with a giant fist, it might be better if he adopted an approach that is similar to Sun Microsystems. When I think of SUNW, I think of triple management: Scott McNealy, Ed Zander and Bill Joy. The notion that there is more than one top executive who has a strong interest in Sun's success reassures shareholders.
