frank...nothing is fixed, thirty just a reference point...lot of chips with 50% growth can be had with pe below thirty....

hypergrowth enterprises deserve a higher pe, but only if they have a sound fundamental business model, and don't lose money quarter to quarter ad infinitum....if they have not just sales growth, but profits and added cash to balance sheet, then i would risk....but believe short term these issues as a brcm, ntap, sdli, etal may experience weakness in the current emotional market....

the other types of companies that i have considered and set positions in are the intellectual property entities as qcom, rmbs, and even old stalwarts as intc and msft...

admittedly underwater on most new positions other then qcom, but you have to start somewhere.....and stay off of the ever tempting margin...
