Ng, in a way you are right since the processes outside the CPU determine the overall system speed(memory, hard drive, far cache etc) so that even if the P-4 goes to 3 Ghz it might not be much faster in many real world applications, although i am sure intel will craft some things that all work in rambus and cache that show them as far better than they really are.
As to the architecture? what evil lurks in the heart of intel, They did not do this in error or from stupids, so there is something that has not been perceived that will give the P-4 some kind of enduring edge?
What is it?
