Friday January 12, 10:08 am Eastern Time Press Release Minefinders Announces Closing Of Private Placement VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 2001--Minefinders Corporation Ltd. (OTCBB:MNEFF - news; TSE:MFL. - news) is pleased to announce that it has raised CDN$ 1,477,180 in a recently closed private placement. The financing consisted of the issuance of 1,599,643 units, each unit comprising one common share and one non-transferable share purchase warrant. Each warrant is exercisable to purchase an additional share of the Company for a period of two years. Subscribers to the private placement include Echo Bay Mines Ltd., the Prudent Bear Fund, Capitalpro International Inc., and Clyde Resources Ltd. Fees in the aggregate amount of 50,000 common shares and US$20,000 were paid. The proceeds of the private placement will be used for general working capital.
