the Dems actions on election eve doesn't smell fishy
Go back and reread your story without beginning with the conclusion that this is some kind of crooked scheme.

1) Democratic Poll watchers notice that voters are getting confused in a key county.

2) The Democrats check it out, ask the election board to issue a memo warning the voters to be carefull.

3) Democrats contact people they think may have been confused by the procedure to document the cases in case they want to challenge.

I call that a pretty ordinary event in an election. It doesn't happen in every precinct but it, and similar things happen in thousands of precincts across the country and are challenged by both republicans and democrats.

I guess my platitude would be The sky is not falling.
