Yes, I can see a reason for no postmark. Despite being in USAF, I spent 32 days straight on a troopship with 3500 others. Seattle to Ulithi, zig- zag course. Return trip was 18 days full bore at 18 knots,day after day, thumpa thumpa thumpa.
Over 8000 miles-never saw an island or a ship on the way back until nearing GG bridge.
