I only saw an exit poll that said Bush won among "older" voters...I didn't see one for those 65 and over.

As far as your other point, you are right. If Gore had 63.76% of the baseline vote, the odds of him winning 787 out of 892 are essentially zero. In fact the odds of him winning 624(70%) of those 892 votes is zero.

So, there is something at play here...that is certain.
