" I like the idea of "more power per Mhz"

Niceguy, if the roles were reversed here, you'd be touting the advantages of AMD's "total performance thanks to more MHz and more performance on the way!" while talking about how silly it is to increase power per MHz needlessly."

No doubt everyone tries to sell their own wares...Seems to me that what AMD is selling is much more tangible in the sense that it exists in the "here and now". The 1.2 gig Athy/DDR combo outperforms the 1 gig "revolutionary we are told" P4...For the past year, as Goutama, has pointed out earlier, AMD was supposed to be running for cover, when the ominous P4 was to appear...Indeed the P4 is ominous at first blush, but ominous only in its mediocrity and perhaps ominous in the sense of what this medocrity might mean for INTC's ability/inability to compete!!!

you are right about the performance but p4-1.5 is not a giant leap in performance either as compared to k7-1.2/ddr
