I make homemade turkey and chicken soup all year. But now my grown son and daughter have moved to Utah so I don't get to make Christmas dinner and Ted's folks have moved to Oregon so we go there Thanksgiving and I don't get to make Thanksgiving dinner! I used to cook for 10-16. I miss it. I LOVED it. I'm going to have a Thanksgiving dinner AFTER Thanksgiving for my Libertarian friends so we can laugh at the election nonsense and dream about a Libertarian victory and I can get to cook Thanksgiving dinner!!!!! Things to make with leftover turkey: Oh myl Turkey croquettes Turkey and mashed potatoes hash Turkey shepherd's pie Turkey sandwiches....this is what I love the best: I put cole slaw or lettuce and cranberry sauce (home made of course) in the sandwiches and use wonderful rye or pumpernickel bread.
