Actually some historians claim that Cleveland was really not the father of that out of wedlock child. They say he was doing a married friend of his a favor by claiming responsibility.

I've got some pretty good friends...but not that good.

Even so, the '84 election was a classic between two men who were near reverse images of each other...Cleveland, the most ethical of politicians but questionable morals, and Blaine, corrupt in political life but an impeccable family life.
