I agree TG. If anything, their chances would be better for a federal court appointment (including the Supreme Court) if they ruled for Bush. Dems would have a hard time voting against a fellow Dem who is seen as having voted his conscience, while as this thread makes clear the GOP will simply assume the fix is in if they rule for Gore. I think it's a close question, and would prefer to assume that they are going to decide it on the merits.
