Sorry to disagree V......They have until Dec 18 before The Florida Electorals wouldnt count. The judges will come forth with some form of judgement allowing the handcounts...you can take that to the bank. As far as the validity of the counts....dimples....intent and etc....I have no idea...It would seem fair to me to allow the handcounts...but make sure the intent was 110% clear, or toss it out...also, must also look at miltay ballots. Anyway, I say they give em time to count and then let harris certify....as I said, I only hope they disallow votes that are not 110% clear.

I've said it once, I've said it twice.....I'll keep on saying it....Gore is stealing this election. I only pray he doesnt get the numbers with the hand colunt, but........I think I know better at this point.

V,
if Gore wins today, the Dems will have to be extremely creative to wipe out Bush's 930 lead.

From ABCNews:

"County Recount Guide

Broward County: Officials have finished 430 precincts so far, with Gore picking up 107 votes. They had hoped to finish by 5 p.m. today, but now it looks like that won’t happen. Several hundred ballots are in dispute over whether “dimpled chads,” ballots that were indented but not punched through, count as valid votes, and the county is waiting for legal opinions ruling on the validity of those votes.

Palm Beach County: Count is about 41 percent complete, with counters reading 70,000 ballots Sunday. Bush has picked up 15 votes there, and, as in Broward, many ballots are in dispute. Officials say the count will be finished by Thursday.

Miami-Dade County: Recount began this morning, with teams of 50 counters working 12 hours a day, every day except Thanksgiving. Officials expect to be done by Dec. 1."

Voltaire - Respectfully, it is exactly the psychology that went against the Bush side, as my eyes saw it. I do not think these justices wanted to hear all about what they CANNOT do by virtue of Constitutional Law. Everything these judges said was about fairness; one of them has already added "disenfranchisement" to her vocabulary. The psychology needed here was to appeal not to the letter of the law and to mandated deadlines, but to the issues of fairness and equity. I think the Bush team could have done this by focusing on the "disen-yada-yada" that is happening to all the rest of the voters in Florida and in the nation. They needed to speak to these justices more from the heart and less from the head. They also needed to show these high-achievers a lot more deference and respect than they did. Sorry to say it, but I think all the Bush team accomplished is to make these justices all the more determined to find some legal justification for allowing the recount to proceed and for dimples and pockmarks to count. (Just my take on the all-important psychology. I like your style, Mr. V!)
