Jim, The hardest thing for Intel is how many of this iteration of P4 do they want to sell and how this will affect the P3.
They probably would have liked to bring the P4 along much slower...


I disagree. The vast majority of PC buyers in the next few months, whether at home or business, will be very happy with 733-933 or so MHz PIIIs. Intel can crank these out like jelly beans now...i.e, at very low cost. It's only message boards like this that swoon over the Giggahoitzes. Remember that Bryant predicted that GMs would stay in the 62 -63% range next year. That means bazillions of low MFG cost PIIIs and all the $1,900 big cache Xeons they can make. The P4s get a nice price too.
