David Letterman struck his own blow on Friday as he declared the race in Florida a tie -- 3 million for Bush, 3 million for Gore, and "those are just the attorneys."

"Every big-shot attorney in the United States is now in Florida," he said, "so here's what happens: If we were to have a hurricane, God forbid we had a hurricane, this whole thing could still have a happy ending."

His late-night rival, Jay Leno, said the election has proven one thing: "your vote counts -- and it counts over and over and over."

"Actually, I feel sorry for some of those people down in Florida," Leno said. "You move down there for the arthritis and then they make you count ballots by hand."

I clearly stated that the vote on civil rights was supported by Republicans in greater numbers as a % than Democrats. Lyndon Johnson would have lost the civil rights legislation without the Republican support of it and that is a historical fact. As a % there were more Democrats opposed to it than Republicans. Your response was nothing but garbage
As for affirmative action it is the other side of the coin of racial profiling. Both are identical. Both say that you should be singled out for special treatment because of your group identity. In one case (afirmative action) the group likes to be singled out but in the other case (racial profiling) then they dont like to be singled out.
In my opinion we dont identify by group but by the rights of the individual. Remember those words content of character.
