Hey Pezz... What did I tell you about having to retest last Monday's low?

Do you think we crash tomorrow and make new 52 week lows, or do we rally?

Regards,

Ron

You said that you believed Gore would win an election (called now), by a landslide. I am intrigued and amused by your viewpoint! My belief was based on the polls that show Bush with about a 65 to 35 % approval rating over Gore as referenced by the handling of the post election shenanigans. Additionally, my experience interacting with others in real space and in cyberspace, convince me that many of Gore's votes would go to the Green Party. Modern day polls are incredibly accurate. I can't imagine what would lead you to the conclusion you tossed onto the thread. I don't wish to presume you as being naive; So let me just call you mysterious.

BTW I admit to the bias against the idea that impartial folk "have no values"......That is ridiculous......

Being impartial means you can assume for the sake of argument the other persons values although different than your own may have worth......Has nothing to do with the belief in your own values.

Again you missed my point. Nobody is impartial. You are conditioned by your education and by your environment. You always have a point of view that can never be shared by another because it is through your eyes, and your other senses, and it is processed by your brain. It is your partial point of view.

Philosophically, most philosophers have held that no humans can reach any objective status--certainly not while they remain human. I could refer you to Hegel, Marx, Jaspers, etc. It is true that some, such as Whitehead, spoke of an objective immortality, but this has no practical bearing on this.

It is true that "impartial" has a common meaning akin to detached, but even here it is only relatively so.

When I suggest that impartial implies no values, you must understand that I do not say it without thought. I said it to point out the absurdities that flow from the meaning and nature of this word, as tolerated in our subjective world. If you were truly impartial, then, in truth, you would be neither drawn to, nor repelled by--ideas, morals or beliefs--nothing could have an objective value judgement attached to it, because the very act of attaching that value judgement, would indicate the inherent self interest or bias. Logical and material laws are generally treated differently, and are not being examined here.

You are not impartial. If you are fair-minded, when you can be, well...that is quite sufficient.

If you wish to discuss this topic we can start a new thread. It is not appropriate in this forum.
