The other night amidst all the talking heads spewing the same things over and over and yelling at each other, Sander van Oker came on and in one sentence he quoted Camus, Aristotle, and someone else famous who has slipped my mind (EDIT: it was Maugham)-- it was such a contrast- it was actually THOUGHTFUL. (It was a quote about everything having a beginning a middle and an end, but wondering which has come first in this situation.)
Someone on the Bush thread seemed horrified at the judges' behavior, but I remember when my husband did Moot Court competitions, the judges were all over them. THat's their JOB! They don't want to hear the set speech, they want the points of law addressed that concern them.
Ha! I hadn't thought of that- but yes- I bet those big hired guns don't get interrupted too often by their clerks and minions!
