1. hard to say they want "dimpled" chads to count if you can't count non postmarked ballots...

2. Gore saw that there was going to be BIGTIME repercussion to this five page memo about the military ballots that HE APPROVED. HE is a micro-manager, and I would not be surprised if GORE wrote that memo himself.

3. Besides their favorite county Dade held off counting until they saw how many votes they may need.

They probably feel as long as they can control the count in Palm Beach, Dade and Broward they can create the number of votes they need to win. Also, the major reason Butterworth is taking this stand is selfish on his point but the right thing to do. He wants to run for Governor and sees this as an opportunity to make points with the people. What is neat about him doing it is he is choosing the right and honorable thing in the face of Gore's desire to steal the votes of the military. Gore's rep stated a while ago Butterworth's position was not their position. They still want to take the votes from the military.

I got a kick out of a statistician on CNN a few minutes ago. He said the the chances of Gore overtaking Bush in the recount are less than 1%.....unless they include dimpled, pimpled, pregnant and raped chads. Then it goes to a 46% chance. BUT, if they do indeed allow the military overseas votes to count, then this may all go right out the window.
