Remember when we were making a thread list of most likely doubles? Yeah, a lot of us were pretty arrogant then. We had made a lot of money and thought we could do no wrong. The smartest one of our crowd was Merlin, of course. He stayed the course, and wasn't as greedy as a lot of us were. As I write this, the NAZ is off 29% for the year, and the G&K index is up 7.2% for the year.

I remember in 1960 thereabouts I watched my parents' IBM drop from 600 to 300. I was horrified because I was the one that advised them to buy it. The rest is history. By holding on they made a good bundle. Like now there was no recession; there was no war. Just a lot of FUD about the price of IBM reflecting not the future but the hereafter. "Why those idiots (techies in today's slang) expect IBM to be bigger than General Motors!!!!"

Chaz, << at the 2nd Annual G&K meeting >> My apologies, Chaz (for not reading every post here late October/early November) and asking a dumb question. I had to skip almost 1,000 posts when I returned from a recent 2 week golf and business walkabout. I caught up only the latest 200. Is the "2nd Annual G&K meeting" going to be held in SD at annual meeting time? Do we have dates and a captain? I missed last year to my regret. Hope to do this years. - Eric -
