>>How do I get a confirmation of the cancel??

i don't know... I'm new to IB (just opened a futures acct) and if you guys scare me off enough I may never open a stock acct :-)

don't all those fancy colors on the STAT bar actually mean something ;-)

I used to trade options freqently w/ Preferred Trade on their windows app and I really like it... a rare glitch here or there (they were willing to bust the errant trades)... but I was very confident when I got a cancel that my order was cancelled (there was full time, order# and status log of your order as it traced its way thru their system).

IB dose have an internal record of cancelations and order entries, weather filled or not, not sure how long that record exist thought.
I once placed and canceled an order after hours which I thought I could have been filled, called IB broker up and he read back to me every order entry and cancelation with timestamps I had made that day. I had ask for an audit trail of my orders.
Which brings up another idea- sure wish there was a way to have a log on my PC of orders and cancelations made on TWS, and logs of IB help desk discussions, but then maybe they don't want customers to have that information at their fingertips.
