Chris,
Lots of box companies out there, but very few major IT companies. I'm curious about the Sony warrantee and service. Do they offer on site repair, internet system checks, and buy back at the end of the warrantee?

Some Intel Pentium 4 chips had wrong code-WSJ

NEW YORK, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Intel Corp. <INTC.O> said
early shipments of its speedy new Pentium 4 chips to personal
computer makers included the wrong piece of software code,
though none of the chips reached consumers, the Wall Street
Journal reported in its electronic edition Tuesay.
Intel on Monday introduced the Pentium 4, which operates at
speeds of 1.5 and 1.4 gigahertz, and major PC makers such as
Compaq Computer Corp. <CPQ.N>, and Gateway Inc. <GTW.N>
promptly unveiled Pentium 4-equipped PCs for sale for about
$2,000.
The problem was discovered last week and involved software
code that acts as a system traffic cop, the so-called BIOS, the
paper said. An updated version, correcting glitches in the
Pentium 4, was forwarded to Intel's customers so they could
replace the BIOS before sending systems to end users, the paper
said.
Intel shares finished off at $41- on the Nasdaq
Monday. The stock has a 52-week high of $75-13/16 and a 52-week
low of $35.
