Yes, they will. The only question is when. I don't expect it to be within a year, the market will be too small except for some niche markets.

Which also begs the question, will programs be optimized for the P4 at the expense of the rest of the market? Sure, the code will run, but the optimizations for the P4, small tight loops that fit in the trace cache, etc. are pathological for the other x86 processors. The converse is true, unrolled loops in particular kill the P4 because they may extend beyond the trace cache or are only interated through once, thus incurring the translation overhead without the benefits of the trace cache.
