Vol - Take a look over at the corporate bond market. It is an order of magnitude worse than in 1998.

The spread is huge and the defaults are lining up more than in 1998. Supply is drying up.

Just take a look.

Best regards,

L

H.S. Dent November 2000 Newsletter Summary:

Since early September the market has been falling, especially the Nasdaq. It finally appears that we are nearing a bottom. Either we already saw the bottom on October 18, or more likely, we will see another wave down into mid- to late November. This is the time to be buying aggressively in the hardest hit sectors, technology and Asia, and allocating out of the sector that has done the best in this correction, health care. Financial services could be held constant or allocated a bit out of. If the market is falling in early November, wait until mid-November to start buying. There are two areas of support, the first around 2,700 to 2,800. The second and more optimum buy
target would be between 2,300 and 2,500. The absolute low should be around 2,100. If instead the market continues up into early November, then wait for a pull back and start buying.

Sam he ain't :-o
................................

Can we count them with our nose?
Can we count them with our toes?
Should we count them with a band?
Should we count them all by hand?
If I do not like the count,
I will simply throw them out!
I will not let this vote count stand
I do not like them, AL GORE I am!

Can we change these numbers here?
Can we change them, calm my fears?
What do you mean, Dubya has won?
This is not fair, this is not fun
Lets count them upside down this time
Lets count until the state is mine!

I will not let this VOTE count stand!
I do not like it, AL GORE I am!

I'm really ticked, I'm in a snit!
You have not heard the last of it!
I'll count the ballots one by one
And hold each one up to the sun!
I'll count, recount, and count some more!
You'll grow to hate this little chore

But I will not, cannot let this vote count stand!
I do not like it, Al Gore I am!

I won't leave office, I'm stayin' here!
I've glued my desk chair to my rear!
Tipper, Hillary, and Bubba too,
all telling me that I should sue!
We find the Electoral College vile!
RECOUNT the votes until I smile!

We do not want this vote to stand!
We do not like it, AL GORE I am!

How shall we count this ballot box?
Let's count it standing in our socks!
Shall we count this one in a tree?
And who shall count it, you or me?
We cannot, cannot count enough!
We must not stop, we must be tough!

I do not want this vote to stand!
I do not like it AL GORE I am!

I've counted till my fingers bleed!
And still can't fulfill my counting need!
I'll count the tiles on the floor!
I'll count, and count, and count some more!
And I will not say that I am done!
Until the counting says I've won!

I will not let this vote count stand!
I do not like it, AL GORE I am!

What's that? What? What are you trying to say?
You think the current count should stay?
You do not like my counting scheme?
It makes you tense, gives you bad dreams?
Foolish people, you're wrong you'll see!
You're only care should be for me!

I WILL NOT LET THIS VOTE COUNT STAND!
I DO NOT LIKE IT. AND AL GORE I AM!! ?

<FONT COLOR=BLUE>MARKET SNAPSHOT--Markets look for relief
By Julie Rannazzisi, CBS.MarketWatch.com
Last Update: 7:54 AM ET Nov 21, 2000

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - Judging by the positive action in the futures markets, Wall Street's dormant bulls may attempt a counterattack Monday.

December S&P 500 futures added 7.00 points, or 0.5 percent, and were trading roughly 5.00 points above fair value. Nasdaq futures, meanwhile, climbed 49.00 points, or 1.7 percent.

But the damage done, particularly in the tech arena, will take time to heal. On Monday, the Nasdaq closed at it lowest level since Oct. 28, 1999.

Technicians want to see the major averages build a base over the next weeks so that a sturdy launching pad from which stocks can spring will be in place. Time is running out for that elusive year-end rally to materialize and the stock indexes have consistently been unable to find buyers for more than one or two trading sessions.

Over in the Treasury bond market, issues continued to trade inversely to stocks with little in the way of news to focus on.

The 10-year Treasury note shed 3/32 to yield ($TNX) 5.69 percent while the 30-year government bond erased 2/32 to yield ($TYX) 5.75 percent.

On the economic docket, the September trade balance is set for release. A survey of economists conducted by CBS MarketWatch.com projects a $30.6 billion deficit. View Economic Preview, economic calendar and forecasts and historical economic data.

In the currency arena, the dollar extended its gains against the yen, rising to 110.07, up 0.2 percent. On Monday, the greenback cleared the 110 level for the first time since mid-May. Euro/dollar slipped 0.3 percent to 0.8483.
