There are two kinds of evil in the world. There's your traditional, garden-variety, Hitler-brand evil, encompassing those who believe their atrocities of word and deed are actually serving the purposes of good, or who just think there's no such thing as right and wrong.

And then there's the other kind, in which you're evil and you know it, clap your hands.

Self-professed evil is mostly found in the movies and in fairy tales, but it does sometimes manifest itself in reality. There can be no finer example than renowned Satanist and all-around troublemaker Aleister Crowley. He was vilified as the wickedest man in the world, but did this upset him? Naw, he loved it! "Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" was his pronouncement on morality. And he wilt to do all kinds of crazy stuff: occult spells, animal sacrifices, hallucinogenic drugs, ceaseless philandering, bizarre sex practices, calculated con-artistry, rampant egotism, bad penmanship... you name it.
