How did Volusia County manage to meet the deadline with over 200,000 votes to be counted by hand? Perhaps not as much time committed to subjective pursuits? LoF

Mr. Palau, you raise the one argument that is in Gore's favor, and I agree that if the FSC wants to rule that way, they could use your approach. The problem is that the legislature is the one that set the the 7 day deadline. Also, I should point out that Volusia County did complete their manual recount in the allotted time, so it isn't impossible. I would agree that either this law should be changed to lengthen the time period, or the law on manual recounts should be changed to make them available only in certain circumstances. I didn't hear the oral argument either, but I do understand that it was addressed, at least to a certain extent. Carl
