Hi lml: I have been watching Bush with interest during the campaign and recount. He appears disengaged. He does not seem like the kind of guy that will lay out a legislative program and fight for it. If he will not be a legislative leader, his party in Congress will step into the leadership vacuum and it will become difficult. Frankly, he reminds me more of Jimmy Carter than any recent President I can remember. I will be watching his State of the Union message with great interest. Will it all be about unity and general terms like moving forward etc or will he push for specific legislation and then get out and fight for it. I may be wrong but his personna does convince me that he is willing to fight for deep seated convictions. We will hear lip service to some conservative principles but no real effort to implement them. Just the way I see it.

Regards, Ken
